This morning I was down to the drug store and took a seat out on the
bench on the sidewalk. There was another fellow there waitng for
something or another and he mentioned something about that TV Show, "American Idle." I had to stop him
right there.
"Yea America is kinda idle these days.", I said. "We got us more of them
obese people than any other country, and we got the most people at the
poverty level that are over weighty too. More and more jobs that folks
used to wake up to and shuffle off to are now deported over seas. And
them folks that
do work regular jobs spend more time alone in their cars by themselves in traffic going nowhere
than with their folks at home being a family."
"Our young'uns rank way on down the list in book learning and the
three R's and stuff; more than is shamefull. They all spend more time
on their behinds playing on TV and such, than we ever did in our youth.
We had ball games, bike rides, hikes and all sorts of sweating and
panting going on, all four seasons of the year."

"What's that?"
(whisper whisper).
"American Idol? You sure?"
"Nuff said."
